Fitting a snow sock in 3 easy steps

In order to fit snow socks to your car, the car must be parked, ideally on a flat surface, with the hand brake applied.

Fit the snow socks by placing the inside elasticated band behind the wheel starting at the top and coming down as much as possible towards the bottom.

Gently move the vehicle backwards or forwards for about 1 metre so that the section of tyre that was at the bottom is now towards the top.

Complete the fitting procedure by placing the rest of the elasticated band behind the wheel. The snow sock will then center itself on the tyre after driving approximately 50 metres. It is recommended to stop the car after the initial 50 metres to check the fitting and if necessary, in extreme cases,  to manually assist centralizing the sock on the tyre.

• Only use the correct size snow sock for the applicable tyre size. Sizes can be found using our Weissenfels Snow Socks Guide
• Always follow the fitting and usage instructions
• Use the provided gloves that are in the bag
• Do not stand or place your hand in front or behind the wheel if on a slope. If possible always fit and take off on a flat surface
• Drive safely: Do not exceed 30mph, do not make rapid acceleration or heavy braking
• Always turn smoothly and avoid skidding
• Only use on snow covered roads. The use on road surfaces not covered by snow will result in rapid deterioration of the snow socks and has a negative effect on the behavior of the vehicle
• In case of any unusual noise, stop the vehicle and check the condition of the snow socks
• Remove the socks immediately when they are no longer necessary
• Always remove snow socks when the vehicle is parked

Maintenance Instructions

After use, check the  fabric and seam conditions. In case of damage, the snow socks should be replaced.

WeissSock snow socks are made of a synthetic and water repellent material, it is advisable to dry the snow socks before putting them back in their carrying bag. At the end of the season, wash thoroughly with cold water.

Attention

• Mount the snow socks as soon as it is required by the snow conditions, do not wait until becoming stuck!
• Use on asphalt road with no snow or ice prematurely wears the fabric out
• The use of snow socks off road is not recommended, since ground irregularities and rocks etc can cause tears in the fabric
• Please expect WeissSocks to have a medium 1% dimensional shrinkage after 1km usage
• WeissSocks are designed to be used as an emergency device that will assist you to get out of critical snow and ice conditions. However, they are not meant to be a substitution for conventional steel snow chains, in such places where their use is legislated by law or that the severity of the conditions are such that only the use of snow chains will be effective
